
INESC TEC is a private non-profit research institution, dedicated to scientific research and technological development, technology transfer, advanced consulting and training, and pre-incubation of new technology-based companies.
INESC TEC hosts over 700 integrated researchers (about 350 PhDs), including staff researchers, researchers from Higher Education Institutions, grant holders and affiliated researchers. INESC TEC’s team also includes trainees, and technical and administrative support staff.
The 13 R&D Centres of INESC TEC are structured in four thematic domains – Computer Science, Industry and Innovation, Networked Intelligent Systems, and Power and Energy. One of the four thematic domains of INESC is Computer Science, where is CRACS.
The Center for Research in Advanced Computing Systems (CRACS) is a research unit partially supported by the University of Porto, Faculty of Sciences, Department of Computer Science (UP/FCUP/DCC), where it is located. CRACS is associated with the INESC-Porto and aims to be actively involved in fundamental and applied research in scalable computing both at national and international level; to foster training of young researchers both at post-graduate and post-doctoral level; and to actively establish partnerships with companies to promote and disseminate research results.
